I joined Street Aid in first year and really enjoyed it. This year, being on the committee, I’ve come to appreciate it even more. Street Aid allows me to dedicate my time to helping others, and as a Global Humanitarian Studies student, it feels like my way of giving aid in a practical and immediate way. Homelessness is such a significant issue in London, and while as students we may not be able to solve it, Street Aid gives us the opportunity to contribute in small but meaningful ways, whether that’s handing out hot drinks, offering extra layers of warmth, or simply showing people that others care. As Welfare Officer this year, I’ve been lucky to work with such kind co-committee members and meet so many people who come along to outreaches. That sense of community is what makes Street Aid special.

That’s why I’m standing for Vice President. I want to continue being part of this society throughout my time at UCL, and I’d love the chance to help support and grow something that already means so much to me.

Hey guys! I’m Tiffany, and I’m running to be Vice President of UCL Street Aid Society! I’ve enjoyed serving as your Outreach Officer so far, and I would love to stay on the committee for the next academic year, driving impact for communities in need and growth within our society as your Vice President.

As Vice President, I hope to:

  1. Strengthen society operations: Whether through supporting initial planning, monitoring committee progress, or maintaining a clear organisation of events, I will ensure that club activities run smoothly and are met with substantial feedback for further improvement.
  2. Increase outreach impact: I will assist with sourcing healthier foods and a wider range of sustainable necessities for our service targets, such as clothing, towels and toiletries.
  3. Foster collaborations with charities through organising events in addition to our regular outreaches and bake sale fundraisers. I will also consolidate partnerships with existing charities, such as C4WS and the Connection, whilst expanding our reach to other London-based charities that combat homelessness.
  4. Strengthen cohesion within the society: Ensuring that the society is friendly and inclusive through collecting regular feedback, as well as organising socials and drop-in sessions.

I would love to have your vote if my visions resonate with you. Hope to meet all of you at our upcoming outreaches!
