I am standing for Treasurer because I have really enjoyed being part of Squash Society over the past two years and would love to be more involved in the workings of the club! Squash has been a big part of my time at UCL, from playing regularly in my first year to representing the 2s this year, and I would like to help support the society behind the scenes and ensure it continues to run smoothly for current and new members.

I study Law but come from a strong maths and STEM background, so I am very comfortable working with numbers, finances and spreadsheets. I am highly organised and reliable, both of which are super important for managing budgets, tracking payments, and keeping clear financial records.

I have also served on the Live Music Society committee this year where I directed the University-wide professional band, which gave me useful experience of how UCL societies operate and the responsibilities that come with being on committee. It taught me the importance of clear communication and organisation. I believe this experience would help me carry out the Treasurer role effectively.

Overall, I would aim to stay on top of financial responsibilities while working closely with the rest of the committee to make sensible decisions and ensure the club remains accessible, well run and enjoyable for its members!

Having served as the Men's 3 Captain last year, I’ve experienced firsthand the incredible community we have at the UCL Squash Club, as well as the behind-the-scenes effort required to keep things running smoothly. I’m standing for Treasurer because I want to step up and ensure our club remains financially strong and accessible for everyone. My time as captain taught me the importance of clear communication, organization, and forward planning—skills I am ready to bring directly to managing our budget. Whether it's securing funding for court times, subsidizing our socials and tours, or managing team transport for BUCS fixtures, my goal is to handle our finances transparently and efficiently so we can all focus on what we do best: playing great squash.

Apparently, one year of budgeting wasn’t enough for me.

But in all seriousness, I’m standing again because I genuinely care about the Squash Society and the direction it’s heading. Being Treasurer this year has shown me how much impact the role actually has, not just keeping track of numbers, but making sure memberships stay affordable, tournaments are properly supported, and socials actually happen without financial stress hanging over them. I’ve learned how to navigate the SU finance system, which is an achievement in itself, manage our budget responsibly, and plan spending in a way that benefits everyone in the club. More importantly, I now know where we can improve, whether that’s planning earlier in the term, being smarter about sponsorship, or making sure we’re always thinking a step ahead rather than reacting last minute. I’m organised, reliable, and I take the responsibility seriously, but I also understand that this club is about enjoyment, community, and growth. If re-elected, I want to build on what we’ve already done and make the financial side of the society feel seamless, so everyone else can just focus on playing and having a good time.

Let’s run it back, just a bit more refined this time.
