Election post
If elected, I hope to better represent minority and performance sports such as ice hockey, which often face unique challenges in funding, facilities, and visibility. Drawing on my experience in the UCL Ice Hockey team and BUIHA competitions, I want to improve communication between clubs and the Union, advocate for fair access to resources, and ensure that team culture, player wellbeing, and competitive commitment are properly recognised across all sports.
I bring first-hand experience as an active member of the UCL Ice Hockey team and a former Sports Rep in my first year. Competing in BUIHA, I understand the realities of minority sports: long travel, limited ice time, and balancing high commitment with academics. I also bring proven advocacy, organisation, and communication skills developed through committee and representative roles across UCL.
Students should vote for me because I represent sports from the inside. As an active member of the UCL Ice Hockey team, I understand the realities of team culture, BUIHA competition, and the challenges faced by minority sports. Alongside this, I bring strong advocacy experience from serving as a Sports Rep and Academic Representative, where I have successfully raised student concerns and worked with the Union to turn them into concrete outcomes. I am committed, approachable, and ready to speak up for sports students at UCL.
In 200 years, I hope UCL will remain a global leader while being even more inclusive and student-led. I imagine a university where academic excellence and sport coexist fully, where minority sports receive equal recognition, and where wellbeing, diversity, and community are central to student life—supported by innovation but grounded in UCL’s long-standing values.
