Sports Business Society: Treasurer

A key factor behind my decision to stand for the position of Treasurer at the UCL Sports Business Society, in addition to my genuine interest in sports business, is my desire to contribute to this community that has played a central role in my university experience so far. Having attended and engaged with every UCLSBS event this academic year, as well as multiple SBS opportunities at other universities, I know first-hand how insightful, absorbing, and practically valuable our panels are. As Treasurer, I would use my strong organisational, time-management, and financial literacy skills to ensure that these high-quality events continue to run smoothly and our society remains financially sustainable. However, this role is about more than just being fiscally responsible: an effective Treasurer works in tandem with other society and committee members to direct the organisation towards its ambitions. Rather than being purely preventative, this role has a proactive element as well, which I would be thrilled and prepared to undertake. 

Another reason why I am interested in this position is that I am keen to develop my understanding of financial management, especially within a sports context. I believe that serving as Treasurer for this society would be an excellent hands-on opportunity to do so. Ultimately, both personal and community-based factors underpin my decision to stand for this role, and I look forward to playing my part in driving the growth of UCLSBS.
