Through my previous role as Media Lead and now VP of Arab and NA society - the largest of it’s kind in the UK, I developed my ability to organize large-scale events, establish an online presence – growing the society’s platform to a cumulative following of over 4k, and create opportunities which support students’ career development. With experience of managing 300+ members and 15+ annual events in Arab Soc, including it's first ever Careers Week, I am excited to bring this experience to SEAD.
My experience in stakeholder management through my role as Transition Mentor successfully promoted interaction between the year groups– which involved answering a lot of questions but nevertheless helped encourage interconnectivity between the MEng community!
During my experience as Deputy Head Girl and Head of the Diversity Committee at school, I learnt to facilitate dialogue between a leadership team of 20 students, a student council of 60+ representatives, staff and governors. That experience taught me how to turn ideas into actions driven by inclusivity and sustainability for long term impact. This is exactly what I want to establish at SEAD – a long term strategy.
I’m excited to help introduce events such as a SEAD Careers Week, bringing together firms, alumni and industry speakers. By creating opportunities for students to engage with professionals in the built environment, I hope to help members navigate the diverse career pathways available and make the process more exciting :)
I liked this role so much I had to do it twice
