Society of Engineering, Architecture and Design (SEAD): Design Officer

I am motivated to contribute as Design Officer by using my creativity, organisational skills, and commitment to develop engaging visuals.

As Treasurer for the Bio-Diversity Festival, I worked closely with design and engineering teams while managing budgets transparently under strict constraints. This experience strengthened my ability to support creative projects while balancing practical considerations, ensuring designs remain both ambitious and achievable.

As a Transitional Mentor on the Engineering & Architectural Design course, I have demonstrated leadership, initiative, and a commitment to supporting others. These skills enable me to collaborate effectively within teams and contribute to an inclusive environment where ideas can develop through shared creativity.

My design experience through InvestIN Young Professionals and the Imperial Maker Challenge has given me practical insight into collaborative design, visual communication, and problem-solving, allowing me to contribute meaningfully from concept development through to final outcomes.

Plus, my experience as Media Representative has strengthened my ability to communicate ideas visually, promote initiatives, and create engaging content that encourages participation and highlights the society’s work.

As Design Officer, I would use these skills to support creative projects and strengthen SEAD’s visual identity while helping showcase the innovative work and opportunities within the society.

I’m standing for Design Officer again because I’d love to continue contributing to the society and help it grow even further. Over the past year as Design Officer, many of you will probably recognise me from the biweekly (sometimes slightly less frequent!) newsletters with updates on our events, talks, and opportunities. Being part of the committee has given me the chance to see how much potential the society has to bring together people interested in engineering, architecture, and technology. I’d love to support the team in organising engaging events, strengthening our community, and creating more opportunities for members to get involved, share ideas, and connect with others. 😊
