If anyone were to be your next Singsoc Secretary, leave it to the kaypoh control freak who has too much time on her hands. The role of secretary may seem like a monotonous admin job. However, maintaining an efficient and organised structure is a dream job scope for someone who can’t go to sleep without her next day planned to the minute.

During my time in Singsoc, I have had a blast meeting new people and forming valuable memories. To keep this spirit alive, here is what I envision to do for you:

Being the glue of the Exco

  • Ensuring that all of the work is streamlined and runs smoothly
  • Actively thinking of ways to simplify menial tasks for the other Exco members
  • Being an impartial mediator when conflict arises

Further improvements on the Singsoc website

  • Timely updates to make it a reliable and active website you can refer to any time
  • Make it a ‘one stop shop’ for all the information a Singaporean UCL student would need and want
  • An accessible platform for all regardless of which social media platform you are on

Making Singsoc an inclusive and homey environment

  • Initiating more informal get-togethers and activities
  • Creating more opportunities to hear what you think (ie. regular town halls, casual conversations and more)
  • I’ll be there for you because we homies like that

All in all, being Singsoc’s next secretary is an opportunity I will treasure greatly. Doing what I love with the community I love, what more could I ask for?

Kai Lee Au

I am standing for this role because I am passionate on bringing all Singaporeans at UCL together and building a true sense of belonging within our community. Joining UCLSS has been one of the highlights of my UCL journey so far, and I want to make sure every Singaporean feels that same warmth and connection the moment they become part of our community. As Secretary, I will bring my strong organisational skills and commitment to keeping our society runs smoothly behind the scenes. From managing minutes to ensuring every member stays informed and engaged, I understand that the secretary is the backbone of a society and I do not take that responsibility lightly. Beyond administrative tasks, I want to help grow what this society stands for. I believe we can strengthen the ties within our community, and create platforms for Singaporeans to connect and network. I promise to always have the community's best interests at heart. Thank you for your support and let's build something we're all proud of together.
