I really enjoy learning sign language and recognise the importance of a society like this - having been education officer this year, I have loved seeing the rewarding aspect and enjoyment of other students learning BSL, so I'd love to get more involved beyond weekly classes to coordinate other events and socials throughout the year. I am keen to offer my help wherever needed and to be able to oversee the runnings of the society by supporting in a broader aspect the president and other committee members. I work part time as teaching agency staff which requires flexibility and reliability, both of which I have been able to develop through this job that I can transfer to the varying nature of the vice president role where adaptability is required. I was a previous BSL level 1 course rep where maintaining communication between students and department staff was key, and I can apply this to enhance communication among the committee; paired with my job and experience as an education officer giving me existing background knowledge on this society, it would be a pleasure to be Sign language society's vice president!
