School of Pharmacy Society: Welfare Officer

Hi everyone! My name is Sia, and I’m running for the Welfare Officer role because I still remember how overwhelming the transition into Pharmacy felt at the start, trying to keep up with the fast pace, manage the workload, and find a sense of balance. Having been in that position myself, I know how important it is to feel supported, connected, and part of a caring community. Over the past three years, I have been tutoring a girl with special needs, which has taught me patience, empathy, and how to provide support tailored to individual needs. As the Welfare Officer, I would want to focus on creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, especially including commuters, international students/those far from home, and those balancing different responsibilities ,through regular check-ins, wellbeing initiatives, and clear guidance on available resources. My goal is to help build a Pharmacy community where everyone feels heard, valued, and able to thrive both academically and personally.
