I am standing as I believe that I can maintain the high quality of the sop society events that already take place, while also putting more thought into the types and timings of events occurring to ensure they fit what's best for attendees and committee members, listening to feedback and ideas for CPD events, game nights, last minute revision sessions, and more.
As I'm already part of the cultural team on the events committee, I played a key role in organising christmas decorations for sop, and also the recent iftar event in collaboration with isoc. I believe the success and high number of attendees of this event shows what can happen when students with strong communication skills and passion are at the forefront of events.
My ability to help lead both cultural events demonstrates my reliability when it's time to fulfil the roles given to me. Becoming events officer means this reliability will only continue.
Vote for me if you want ur voice heard and events that are beneficial, organised, but most importantly, enjoyable!
I am standing for Events Officer for our School of Pharmacy Society because I am passionate about creating events that bring our community together and leave a lasting impact. As co-lead of the SOP Ball, widely regarded as the best event of the year, I oversaw ticketing, seating arrangements and overall event flow with meticulous attention to detail. This required strong multitasking, excellent communication and creative problem-solving under pressure, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Beyond the SOP Ball, I have supported numerous society events, helping coordinate logistics and making sure everything runs smoothly. If you vote for me, I will bring the same dedication and energy to organize a variety of events that are both career-focused and inclusive. These include Networking Nights with alumni and professionals, Sports Events to promote fun and teamwork, Cultural Events celebrating our diverse student body and a Pharmacy Careers Panel to help students explore opportunities and gain valuable insights.
I am committed, enthusiastic, and organised and I will work tirelessly to ensure our events are engaging, accessible, and memorable for everyone. With your support, we can make this year’s society events the best yet!
I am standing for the position of Event Officer for the School of Pharmacy Student Union because I want to contribute to creating a supportive and engaging environment where pharmacy students can succeed academically and socially. Pharmacy is a demanding degree that requires commitment and perseverance, and I believe well-organised events can support students throughout their studies while promoting professional development and wellbeing.
One of the main things I stand for is fostering a stronger sense of community within the School of Pharmacy. Pharmacy students spend a significant amount of time studying and preparing for assessments, which can sometimes make it difficult to connect with peers. As Event Officer, I would aim to organise events that bring students from different year groups together, such as welcome socials, inter-year networking events, and informal gatherings. These events can help students build friendships, share experiences, and support each other throughout the course.
I also want to support academic and professional development. I would like to organise peer-led revision sessions before exams, career talks with practising pharmacists, panel discussions about different pharmacy career pathways, and CV sessions to help students gain insight and feel more prepared for their future careers.
Overall, I hope to create meaningful opportunities for pharmacy students to connect, learn, and enjoy their university experience as an Event Officer in School of Pharmacy
If you know who I am then you know what I bring to the table and if not the hopefully I can convince you otherwise.
If I were to be events officer I wouldn’t only plan events.
Successes like the SOP Ball last month would be just the tip of the iceberg, you can look back at the many events we have hosted in the past few months and you will see that I am the right choice for this role .
If you want to have an even better academic year by being able to attend events with your cohort as well as networking then voting for me will make this happen.
