RUMS Society: Raising and Giving VP

Hello everyone! 

My name is Apiraami, 2nd year medical student and I would love to be your RUMS Raising and Giving VP.

One of the things I love most about RUMS is how much people care about supporting causes dear to them. Across our sports clubs and societies there are already so many amazing charity events happening, and I’d love to help bring these together, amplify them, and make it even easier for people to get involved.

As VP, I would aim to lead and support the Raising and Giving subcommittee, creating a collaborative and positive team environment where people feel encouraged to share ideas and organise impactful events. I really enjoy working with others and helping turn ideas into well-run initiatives.

I’d also love to focus on promotion and visibility. Using the Raising and Giving Instagram, I would highlight charity initiatives happening across RUMS — whether that’s society fundraisers, sports club challenges, or charity gigs. I’d also like to increase visibility of volunteering opportunities, helping students easily find ways to get involved with charities and community projects beyond fundraising.

Another goal of mine would be to help streamline charity events across RUMS sports and societies, making communication clearer and encouraging collaboration on larger fundraising initiatives.
