Aliyah Ajiboye

From merch drops to society events, a lot of info gets lost in the mayhem of the UCLMS Whatsapp group chats. As General Secretary, I'd love to share more about what goes on within the med school consistently, clearly and suitably in advance.

I've spent the last year running the RUMS Women's Hockey socials as Publicity Secretary, and also run my own TikTok page so I have lots of experience with social media and communications. I was also a part of the Sports and Societies subcommittee this year, helping to organise Sports Ball! From this I've gotten familiar with the ins and outs of RUMS and have the skills to streamline information from the committee to you.

To keep it simple, here's what I hope to do in the role:

  • Revamp the rums.medics Instagram page, spotlighting more societies and events within RUMS and making the feed look cleaner
  • Introduce a scheme similar to the TeamUCL Takeover, where societies within RUMS get to showcase their club/event for a day on the Instagram story
  • Ensure that comms about important/time-limited events (like the RUMS merch drops) are clearly shared on social media and the group chats in advance
  • Reduce the spam on UCLMS group chats by making a digital timetable for all university-endorsed tutorials & academic events
  • Regularly release new editions of the RUMS newsletter, sharing academic, volunteering and social opportunities

I'd appreciate your vote to keep you all up to date with all things RUMS in the 26-27 academic year 💙💛

Udaiveer Parihar

Hiya, I'm Udaiveer, and I'm running for RUMS' General Secretary.

RUMS exists to support our medical school community through events, teams, societies, welfare services, and representation. With a community this large, the difference between a smooth year and a stressful one is simple: clear comms and reliable admin.

What I will deliver if elected

  1. Continuity, communicated properly
RUMS already runs a full calendar of flagship socials and community events. My priority is to support that delivery by ensuring every event and update is easy to find, accurate, and shared early, across every channel.
  2. A stronger RUMS Bulletin and clearer comms
The General Secretary is responsible for the RUMS Bulletin, and for managing day-to-day communication across the RUMS email, website, and social media. I will introduce a consistent weekly format with clear sections, deadlines, and a simple way for clubs, reps, and networks to submit announcements, so members receive key information once, clearly.
  3. Professional committee operations
I will circulate agendas in advance, share minutes promptly, and maintain an action tracker so decisions turn into delivery, and handovers remain strong year to year.

Why me
I bring practical experience delivering high-pressure events, leading committees, and running communications and outreach across student projects and societies. I will apply that same structure and reliability to the operational backbone of RUMS, so other officers can focus on welfare, education, and events
