Rock and Metal Society: Treasurer

Hi there! My name’s Tilak🤘🏾, and I’ll first tell you a bit about myself before I get into why I think I’d be the best Treasurer our soc has ever seen (sorry Jared😆)!

My favourite band is Bloodywood(🇮🇳!), favourite album is Architects’ (see image) All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, and favourite concert moment is my first mosh pit during Bloodywood’s set in the O2!!! My favourite RMS moment was struggling to hear anything at Imperial Palace because a band decided it’d be a good time to play a set right when we had our soc pub visit😔.

As your Treasurer, I will work with the President to assist with room bookings, and other committee members to ensure you have the best socials ever. I’ll liase with SU Finance to apply for grant funding for INFINITE PIZZA SOCIALS🍕🍕🍕.

I was the Treasurer of the Sixth Form Committee, where I learnt skills such as managing the committee budget, communicating with the committee and attention to detail. I oversaw the booking process and financials of Year 13 Prom and Yearbook, all skills I will utilise as your Treasurer!

As First Year Rep, I’ve seen how our Society operates, and have helped organise events and assist committee members, experience I'll be able to use to hit the ground running!!

I’ll remain approachable to all society members if you want to yap about anything: life, metal🤘🏾, TfL🚂, clarinet etc (I promise I don’t bite 🥰), and will (continue to🤭) talk regularly on the WhatsApp GC!
