I firmly believe that everyone should be able to get a taste of quantum physics, no matter their level of experience. In such a competitive industry, we can easily underestimate the value of collaboration and connection. More and more, the quantum industry asks for cross disciplinary efforts to push the research frontier. We should be welcoming this diversity of thought as early as possible in our careers. As welfare officer, I would make sure that students of all backgrounds, disciplines, and experiences can feel welcome to expand their horizons and give quantum a try.
The quantum field (haha) is rapidly growing, I want to make sure that everyone can come along for the ride! :)
I’m standing for Welfare Officer of the Quantum Society because I want our community to feel genuinely welcoming and supportive, especially in a subject as challenging and fast‑moving as quantum physics. As a Theoretical Physics student working across quantum computing, simulation, and high‑energy modelling, I know how easy it is to feel intimidated or out of place, and how important it is to have a society where people feel comfortable asking questions and engaging without pressure.
My experience co‑founding two ventures and working in fast‑paced startups in London and India has shown me how quickly stress and self‑doubt can build in technical environments. Those roles taught me the value of wellbeing, open communication, and creating spaces where people feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
Across my UCL roles - Accommodation & Housing Officer, Vice President of Jain Society, Treasurer of Physics Society, and Tech Officer for Math Soc - I’ve consistently worked on student support and community building. I’ve helped students navigate difficult situations, handled sensitive conversations, and created inclusive environments where everyone feels welcome, not just the most confident voices.
As Welfare Officer, I want to bring that same approach to the Quantum Society: making events more accessible, ensuring new members feel welcomed, and creating clear, approachable channels for support so everyone feels valued and able to thrive
