Hi there, I’m George. My interest in quantum technology began through a Quantum Computing for Financial Services programme in Singapore last year, and since then I’ve been excited by how quickly the field is growing and the real-world problems it can tackle. Earlier this year I became a Research Associate, which gave me first-hand insight into the Society’s potential and the strong interest among students. I aim to build on that momentum by making the Society even more active, visible, and welcoming through consistent hands-on projects and regular events, including workshop evenings and a flagship hackathon, so anyone can get involved regardless of background. I also aim to anchor our technical activities around areas like quantum optimisation and quantum machine learning by running a short beginner-to-builder workshop series that gets people confidently using Qiskit, alongside a term-long project track where small teams produce polished Qiskit notebooks and showcase-ready results at the end of term. With experience in the Society, genuine enthusiasm for the field, and a clear plan to scale our impact, I’m running to be President of the UCL Quantum Society, and I believe I’m well placed to lead it forward. If this vision resonates with you, I’d really appreciate your vote.
