Nancy Yang

If elected as Vice President, I would aim to support the committee in ensuring the smooth running of the society while expanding opportunities that benefit members academically, socially and professionally. I hope to strengthen collaboration across year groups, increase engagement through events, and help deliver initiatives that promote both student wellbeing and career development within Psychology. Drawing on my experience coordinating events and managing society initiatives, I would work to ensure clear communication within the committee, effective execution of events, and a welcoming community that represents the diverse interests and needs of UCL PALS students.

Christine Chen

Hi, I’m Christine! I am currently studying BSc Psychology and have enjoyed engaging with the subject beyond lectures with the PALS Society. I am really fond of the society’s community, work ethic, and passion, thus motivating me to run for the position of Vice President.

Previous experience, such as being the Applied Projects Director for the Behavioural Innovations Society, president of my sixth form Psychology Society, and Academic Prefect, helped build my competence for this role. These experiences have shaped me into someone who is proactive in turning ideas into structured, impactful initiatives, organised in coordinating and communicating events, and committed to fostering a supportive environment.

If elected, I am excited to work closely with the committee to ensure the society runs cohesively behind the scenes in affairs, communication, and administration. It will be an honour to be part of this team and contribute to the PALS Society’s growth. Thank you for taking the time to read through my manifesto, and I would truly appreciate your support:)

Natalie Cheung

Hello, I’m Natalie, a 2nd Year BSc Psychology student and former President of the Behavioural Innovations Society (BIS), running to be your PALS Vice President. As BIS President, I played a central role in delivering faculty-wide initiatives, including the newly introduced PALS Spring Ball, alongside cross-university events such as the Nudgeathon and Careers Fair, as well as applied projects, seminars, workshops, and socials on campus.

Leading BIS has strengthened my ability to manage ambitious initiatives, coordinate committees effectively, and build meaningful cross-society partnerships. I bring both experience and a strong inter-university network, enabling me to connect students from diverse backgrounds and introduce impactful opportunities, while actively supporting the future President’s vision and ensuring continuity within the committee.

As Vice President, I will prioritise expanding cross-society and cross-university collaboration, strengthening faculty-wide community across cohorts, and creating tangible CV-building opportunities, including psychological case competitions, applied projects, and career-focused initiatives for psychology and brain sciences students.

Thank you for your support. I am ready to bring experience, dedication, and vision to the Vice President role, and I would be honoured to earn your vote.

I am standing for Vice President because I want to help the PALS Society continue growing into a community that feels genuinely connected, well-organised, and supportive for students throughout the year.

Before university, I served as the Wellbeing Lead for my school. I organised assemblies and workshops, coordinated with staff, and worked with different student groups to keep communication clear and plans running smoothly - especially during busy periods. That experience taught me how much good organisation and consistent follow-through shape how a community feels.

If elected, I would support the President by strengthening the behind-the-scenes running of the society: keeping the committee aligned on priorities, maintaining realistic timelines across the term, and ensuring members receive clear information about events and opportunities in good time. In practice, this means helping to seamlessly deliver everything from socials and the ball to careers events and academic talks so that events are well-planned, communication stays consistent, and members know what’s happening and feel welcome.

PALS Society has already built strong foundations, and I’d love the opportunity to build on that momentum and help the committee deliver an even better experience for members next year.
