Portuguese Speaking Society: President

Hi everyone, I’m Maria, your current Treasurer, and I’m running to be the next President of the Portuguese Speaking Society. As someone who’s Portuguese and has been part of the committee this year, I care a lot about what this society represents and what it can become.

Being Treasurer has given me a clear understanding of how we operate behind the scenes and how much more we’re capable of with the right planning and energy.

If elected, I want to organise more events throughout the year and create more opportunities for people to connect. That means bigger socials, more consistent meet-ups, and making sure our community feels active and inclusive across all Portuguese-speaking backgrounds. Whether you’re fluent, learning, or just interested, there should be a place for you here.

I’m motivated, organised, and ready to build on what we’ve started this year. I’d really appreciate your support!
