I’m standing for Treasurer because Piano Society has become a really important part of my time at UCL, and I’d love to give back in a way that supports its growth behind the scenes. Music has been a huge part of my life for years — I’ve completed my Grade 8 piano and currently teach both in primary schools and 1-1 to UCL students. Through teaching and organising a recital for 30 of my students, I’ve learned how much work goes into making musical events run smoothly. Planning, budgeting and coordinating that recital taught me to be organised, calm under pressure, and careful when managing money that others are trusting you with.As a second-year Chemistry student balancing academics with teaching, I’ve developed strong time management skills and a real sense of responsibility. I also took an accounting module, so I’m comfortable with budgets and spreadsheets. I’d love to help ensure we can keep putting on accessible, high-quality events. I would approach the role with care, reliability, and a real commitment to supporting our community of pianists.
