Hi I'm Sid!
I think you should vote for me to be Treasurer. Here's why:
I believe my background makes me a great fit for this role:
- Since secondary school, I have run a non-profit organisation with over 50 students across 4 countries, effectively fundraising over 3800 pounds for effective cause areas. This past winter, I successfully organised a winter coats appeal for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, successfully donating over 1000 coats to disadvantaged communities in London. My capability to manage our fixed budget of 150 pounds to maximise these results shows my ability to manage fixed resources for results.
- While in secondary school as the Deputy Head Pupil Librarian, I was able to apply for and leverage a 250 pound budget to organise multiple events throughout the year, including public speaking competitions, organise speakers and even set up a cross-school quiz with over 120 students across multiple schools. This demonstrates my capability to apply for and leverage funds effectively to manage significant projects.
- I've personally pursued photography as a hobby ever since secondary school, amassing over 200 likes across social media on my landscapes.
I'm incredibly passionate about photography so I'd really appreciate your vote! Please do vote for me!
Hi! My name is Nashat and I’m a 2nd year Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences student at UCL. Photography is something I’ve always loved, from experimenting with different styles to documenting everyday moments, and the society has given me a place to meet people with similar interests. I’m running for Treasurer because I want to use my experience to keep PhotoSoc financially secure, organised and have great activities throughout the year. I’ve loved being a member this year and would like to be more involved next year.
My previous experience as Treasurer for the Lamorna Society for 2 years has allowed me to understand budgeting, financial management and working with the Students’ Union. I have been responsible for tracking expenses, planning budgets for events and ensuring that all spending is properly documented so everyone gets paid asap. This experience has taught me the logistics behind the treasurer role and also come up with ideas to ensure that the society is able to focus on delivering enjoyable events.
In this role, my main focus would be to ensure that I would work with the committee to plan ahead for photowalks, workshops, studio sessions, collaborations and exhibitions, making sure we make the most of our funds and keep things affordable for the members!
If elected, I will bring a practical and transparent approach to the Treasurer role, ensuring the society’s finances are well managed and aimed towards delivering the best events. Thank you for considering me :))
Photography has always been a meaningful part of how I experience the world. As an aspiring travel photographer, I enjoy capturing moments and perspectives that might otherwise go unnoticed. Through the society's photo walks and photography tutorials, I have met people who have unique perspectives, creativity, and share a similar passion in photograhy.
I’m running for the Treasurer position because I want to support the society in a practical way that helps these experiences continue to grow. Good financial management ensures that the society can organise activities such as photo walks, workshops, exhibitions, and social events while keeping them accessible to members. Surviving the brutal quantitative rigour of UCL Econs so far, I understand how a small numerical error can lead to big issues. As your Treasurer, I aim to manage the society’s finances responsibly and accurately, maintain transparency, and help allocate resources in ways that benefit the whole community.
I also plan to contribute ideas for cost-effective events that allow the society to expand its activities without placing unnecessary financial pressure. Ultimately, I want to help ensure that the society remains well-organised, and able to provide meaningful opportunities for photographers of all levels to connect, learn, share their work, and grow together.
Thank You!!!
