Dharsika Thangeswaran

I am a passionate and motivated member of the Pharmacology society who wishes to strive for the best for all of our members and to ensure that they receive the highest standard of support. I believe standing for the Treasurer of Pharmacology Society will help me fulfil my wishes by ensuring that the society can continue to deliver high quality academic talks, collaborations with other societies, expert advice from recruiters about how to apply to internships or jobs and increasing the number of social opportunities throughout the year. I would like to help organise and create events that are genuinely useful for members of this society and help them feel as if they did not waste their money on a membership. I aim to complete these goals whilst simultaneously taking a responsible, transparent, and organised approach to managing our finances.

I am dependable and focused on details so think I have the necessary skills to be a Treasurer, with experience managing a small tutoring business's finances for my parents before they could afford an accountant and also managing my own embroidery business. Therefore, I believe I can ensure funds are used in a sustainable and necessary manner, documenting their usage and working closely with the committee to construct realistic budgets. I wish to contribute to a well-run, financially secure society that supports students’ academic success and professional development and to be the Treasurer for a society that gives back to its members.
