Candidates
I am truly honoured to nominate myself here, and I know this opportunity is being extended to many deserving candidates who genuinely have Pakistani students' interests at heart.I was born and raised in Pakistan, and in all my time in the UK — I haven't quite mastered the British accent. But I am fond of every provincial accent back home, which means your diverse backgrounds will always be represented - by your bhai, or your kaptaan, if you're feeling generous.I've channelled that cultural enthusiasm into making events truly memorable and felt. Because it isn't only about events. It's about how proudly you carry your culture, and how creatively you find joy within this shared identity that our sabz hilali parcham gave us.My passion for Pakistan runs deep - deep enough that I represented the national U13 and U16 cricket teams, and these days I'm replicating Imran Khan's hairstyle — the cricket era one, of course. No politics until the biryani is served.

Pakistan Zindabad!
I am standing for PakSoc President because I have the experience to lead and the background to connect our entire community. I have been an active part of this society since day one, serving as First Year Rep and then as Vice President this past year. I have a complete understanding of how this society operates, from managing complex logistics to handling the behind-the-scenes challenges that the presidency demands. There is no learning curve for me; I am ready to deliver from day one.
My perspective is uniquely shaped by growing up in both Pakistan and London. I understand the distinct experiences of our international students and our UK-based diaspora because I have lived both. My goal is to bridge that gap naturally, ensuring PakSoc is a space where everyone feels represented - whether we are hosting high-profile formals or relaxed socials. I have made my best friends through this society, and as President, I want to ensure every member has that same opportunity to find their community here!
As President, my focus will be on quality, consistency, and - most importantly - enjoyment. My time as VP taught me that the best events are those planned with the members' actual interests in mind. I want to ensure our calendar is not just busy, but genuinely fun and engaging for everyone. I have the institutional knowledge to navigate the Union’s requirements and the personal background to ensure no part of our community is overlooked. Vote for me for a vibrant Paksoc year:)
I am standing for President because I believe PakSoc can be more than a social society, it can be a community that celebrates culture while opening doors for students. Having moved to the UK in 2021, I understand how important it is for students arriving from Pakistan or the diaspora to find a space that feels welcoming and supportive. PakSoc provides that sense of belonging, and during my first year I actively supported events like Milan and Jalwa, gaining appreciation for what makes this community special.
PakSoc Career Network – connecting students with the wider Pakistani diaspora, alumni and professionals in London through mentoring, career panels and networking events.
Cultural Showcase at UCL – expanding PakSoc’s presence by participating in cross-cultural initiatives and sharing the richness of Pakistani heritage with the wider UCL community.
Artist & Speaker Series – bringing Pakistani artists, performers and inspiring voices to UCL to celebrate our culture and spark meaningful conversations.
My experiences as a Youth Councillor for Westminster, an Independent Youth Advisor to the Metropolitan Police, a United Nations Volunteer, and an intern at State Street Global Advisors and Allspring Global Investments have shown me the impact of networks and mentorship. PakSoc should be a home for our community, a celebration of our culture, and a platform that helps our members grow and succeed. PakSoc should not only celebrate where we come from, but help shape where we are going.
