Padel Tennis Club: Tournament and Trip Secretary

One of the things I value most about Padel Society is the atmosphere and friendships it creates. Playing every Wednesday has been a consistent and enjoyable part of my week, and I would like to contribute more to the club by helping organise its competitive side.

As Tournament and Trip Secretary, I would introduce regular, well structured mini tournaments throughout the term to add extra purpose and excitement to sessions. Alongside this, a simple semester long league format could provide consistent, friendly competition without changing the relaxed culture of the society.

I would also prioritise both internal events and external competitions, giving members opportunities to compete more seriously when desired. Having previously organised an 8 a side tournament, I understand the importance of fairness, scheduling, and clear communication. I am organised, reliable, and confident in my ability to deliver well run tournaments that enhance the club’s existing strengths

The padel society has been one of the true highlights of my first year at UCL!!! I remember vividly my first week, during which I met the padel leadership, at the clubs fair and later attended the taster session. Everyone involved has always been extremely welcoming and supportive from day one and for this reason I would really like to get involved in the committee to give back. 

Certainly, going to the UK Universities Padel Tournament in Bristol was one of the best experiences, it was great to bond with other members of the team and of course compete ferociously against our rivals… Through my role as Tournament and Trip Secretary I hope to be able to provide even more opportunities like this for members of our society, to improve in their skills, meet new people and participate in competitions. The padel society brings joy to my Wednesday afternoons and I hope that through my involvement in the committee I can also ensure that this is the case for you too!
