Being an active member of Padel Society, I understand how important clear and engaging communication is to maintaining strong turnout and enthusiasm. Although communication within the club is already solid, I believe there are ways to make it more interactive and exciting.
Having previously managed the Instagram account for an 8 a side football tournament at my school, I have experience promoting events, building anticipation, and keeping participants informed. As Communications Officer, I would aim to highlight tournaments, showcase member achievements, and create content that reflects both the friendly and competitive nature of the society.
I am organised, creative, and reliable, and I would ensure information is shared consistently and professionally while helping strengthen the club’s presence and engagement
I am standing for Communications Officer because I care about growing the UCL Padel society and strengthening its presence both within UCL and externally. Over this past year, I have seen how much potential this society has, and communication plays a huge role in shaping its energy and visibility.
With padel being such a fast-growing sport, there is a real opportunity to build a stronger and more recognisable online presence, promote events effectively, and create content that reflects the competitive and social sides of the club. A society's communications are often the first impression people get, and i'd want ours to reflect the ambition, professionalism and character of the group.
Effective communication goes beyond simply posting regularly, it's about creating a sense of momentum and inclusion, making sure members feel informed, engaged and excited about what's coming up.
Ultimately, I would want to help position UCL padel as one of the most visible and well-run sports societies at UCL, while maintaining the competitive and social balance that makes it so enjoyable.
