I am standing for Charity and Volunteering Secretary because would love to expand the outreach of our netball club into something more than just a sports team. As soon as I joined UCNC I felt so welcomed and have made my best friends within the club. UCNC is characterised by its inclusive community, which is a testament to the committee leaders, and I would love to use this environment to make a positive impact beyond training and matches as a committee member.

Volunteering has already been an important part of my life. I spent the last month of summer before arriving at UCL at an orphanage in Baku, working closely with children running dance classes to build their confidence. That experience showed me how powerful organised group effort can be, and how meaningful even small contributions are when people come together. It strengthened my ability to plan activities and take initiative, which I believe is essential for organising termly volunteering and charity events needed for this role.

If elected, I would love to organise a volunteering opportunity, partnering with a local Camden/Bloomsbury primary school to run a netball skills afternoon for young girls who may not otherwise have access to organised sport. This would link directly to our club’s identity while making a tangible impact in the wider London community.

I would really value the opportunity to help shape this new role and make charity and volunteering a meaningful part of our club culture.
