🎶 Dear Musicians,
My name is Diana, and I’m a rising second-year student running to be your Publicity Director next year!
Outside of music, I love making coffee, learning languages, and taking photos, which is exactly why I’m so excited about the opportunity to share your stories.
As a flute player in Mezzo and Glockenspiel spieler in Concert Band, this society has become such a meaningful space for me. Some of my closest friendships outside my major started right here. Getting to know more strings players through Mezzo has also been so fun.
If elected, I plan to introduce weekly member spotlights on our social media so we can celebrate each and every one of YOU. Whether you’re a string player, wind player, brass, singer, percussionist, biologist, mathematician, dancer, historian or anything, I want everyone to feel seen and special. My goal is to help us grow closer as a society and highlight the amazing people who make this community what it is.
I can’t wait to bring us all closer together.
If you know me in person, I’d be so grateful for your vote.
If you don’t know me yet — please vote for me, because I’d truly love to get to know you!
Musically yours :)
Diana Du🎵
Since joining UCL, I’ve been an active flute player in Concert Band, and I’ve absolutely loved being part of such an inclusive ,welcoming and relaxed community. Because of this, I’d love to get involved beyond being a flautist and help promote our amazing society.
As your Publicity Director, I will
- ensure our social media is vibrant, engaging, and aligned with UCL guidelines
- Work closely with ensemble managers
- Direct and recruit publicity volunteers from different ensembles
- Create eye-catching and cohesive promotional posts
- Attract more online attention by creating reels behind the scenes from rehearsals
- Be more active on our YouTube page by uploading concert videos
- Effectively promote concerts and socials early and across all platforms
- Keep members updated on everything happening within the society
My previous experience has prepared me well for this role. As a former House Publicity Director and member of the Social Service Team in high school, I promoted competitions, managed updates for inter-house events, and designed a wide range of promotional posters. Through these experiences, I developed strong marketing, communication, and design skills — and I’m ready to bring these skills to Music Society.
Combining my passion for this society with my previous experience, I truly believe I’m well suited for this role. I would be honoured to have your vote, and I can’t wait to promote all the wonderful concerts and socials next year!
