MedTech Society: Treasurer

If elected as Treasurer, I want to make finances more efficient and transparent through:

• Maximising value from each event: Using my experience of organising a fund-raising concert for a volunteer event, I understand how to forecast costs, manage cash flow, and ensure events are profitable.
• Transparent and organised systems: Excel spreadsheets will help manage funds and present expenses clearly.
• Strategic budgeting, not just bookkeeping: I will allocate funds intentionally so that every pound supports impactful workshops, speaker and networking events.
• Growth mindset: I will use my creativity to find ways to increase revenue streams, be it through partnerships, ticketed events, or reinvesting surplus funds strategically.

With my consulting background and experience organising a fund-raising concert, I have learnt how to handle financial communication and ensure that funds are tracked in an organised manner. Thus, I hope to be given the opportunity to be the Treasurer of UCL's MedTech society, as I believe that being the treasurer is not just about managing the society's funds, but it is about empowering our society to think bigger and execute events more confidently, with the assurance that our finances are in safe hands. 

I'm standing to be your Treasurer because I don’t just want to manage our finances, I want to elevate everything we do. 

MedTech is ambitious, bridging the gap between many sectors. But ambition only has impact when it is backed by strategy. 

To me, money isn’t just numbers on a spreadsheet.  It’s leverage. It's an opportunity. It’s what transforms a standard event into an exceptional one and turns ideas into real growth.

I want to ensure that we have the resources to secure better speakers, bigger events, and stronger industry partnerships.

My experience includes:

• Finance Assistant for our Students’ Union UCL, meaning:
  - I assess and process expense claims, working directly with the SU Finance team
  - Understand the systems behind reimbursements and budget requests
   
• Finance internship + bootcamps 
   
• Former MedTech Events Officer 
   
• President of Medical Innovation and Enterprise Events Team
   
• Events Assistant for our Students’ Union UCL

Not only do I have strong finance experience, I also know what makes an event succeed, from budgeting to logistics. 

I bring attention to detail, reliability, and vision. 

If elected, I will:

•  plan budgets strategically
   
• pursue sponsorships proactively
   
• Ensure growth without compromising accessibility.

A solid financial foundation is integral to ambition, opportunity and success for our society.
