Having served as Vice-President this year, I am motivated to stand for President because I have developed a deep understanding of how MedSoc operates, what it does well, and where it has the potential to grow further. This year has given me both strategic oversight and hands-on experience - from helping organise Freshers’ Week events to supporting the coordination of multiple conferences.
Managing and supporting 15 subcommittees was a challenge I was keen to tackle. I made it a priority to ensure that each team felt supported while also maintaining accountability and direction. Through this, I learned that effective leadership about reaching out, helping and ensuring concerns are addressed. As President, I would build on this by fostering an even stronger culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared purpose across committees.
Helping organise conferences has also given me insight into the logistical, financial, and interpersonal considerations required to run MedSoc smoothly. Importantly, I understand the responsibility that comes with representing the student body and maintaining strong relationships with faculty, external partners, and students across all year groups.
I am standing for President because I care deeply about MedSoc’s impact. Having already invested significant time and energy into strengthening its initiatives, I feel well-placed to provide continuity, build on the foundations laid this year, and lead with experience, vision, and dedication.
