Kian Patel

Hi everyone, I’m Kian, and I’m running to be your next Treasurer. I’ve genuinely loved the events we’ve put on this year: they’ve shown me how much potential this society has. As Treasurer, I want to help fund a wider range of career events across marketing, advertising, media, and creative industries, alongside more frequent, well-planned socials. I’m organised, detail-focused, and transparent with finances, but most importantly, I care about making this society inclusive, engaging, and great value for everyone. I’d really appreciate your vote.

Quick reality check: A society doesn’t simply grow because of ideas. It grows because the money is managed properly.

I’m running for Treasurer because this role quietly determines everything: from the quality of our events to how ambitious we can actually be. And I know how to make our budget work harder for you!

Over the past year at UCL, I’ve worked across society leadership and marketing roles where every decision came down to one thing: allocate smart, track tightly, and spend where impact is highest. That’s exactly the mindset I am bringing here.

Here’s what I will deliver:

  •  Smarter budgeting, not just bookkeeping: Clear budget planning so committees can execute confidently, without last-minute scrambling.
  • Maximum value from every pound: I will prioritise the most effective events, negotiate with vendors, and support sponsorship efforts so we can do more without simply spending more.
  •  Full transparency members can trust: Simple, regular financial updates so the committee always knows where we stand.

I care about this society being able to think bigger - better speakers, stronger activations, more opportunities for members. That only happens when the financial side is disciplined and proactive.

I’m organised, detail-obsessed when it counts, and calm under pressure. If you want a Treasurer who treats the society’s budget like it actually matters, I would really value your vote.

Let’s make every pound work harder!
