Connection is the primary currency of the marketing world. As an Arts & Sciences student, I spent months searching for a community that mirrored my career ambitions, only to realise that MarkAD, the very hub I sought, remained rather invisible to the students who needed it most. I am standing for Head of Outreach and my goal is to transition MarkAD from a campus-bound society into a recognized industry player. My candidacy is built on a foundation of professional initiative and global adaptability. Through my role as Social Media Officer for Pi Media and the launch of my independent creative platform, I have developed a sophisticated toolkit for brand representation and high-level communication. Furthermore, having navigated over thirty countries, I bring a level of cultural intelligence and versatile communication that is essential for negotiating with external partners. I possess the confidence to represent our society to diverse organisations and the technical skillset to manage complex professional relationships. I will move beyond passive networking to pursue partnerships and high-stakes competitions that offer our members genuine, high-value exposure. By harnessing my international perspective and my commitment to proactive outreach, I will foster a collaborative environment where MarkAD is a central node in the UK universities’ marketing landscape. I am ready to work hard to make our society the main bridge between students and the marketing world.
Most societies don’t have an opportunity problem. They have a reach problem.
Great events, strong speakers, but the right people never hear about them, or partners don’t fully see the value. That’s exactly why I’m running for Head of Outreach.
Over the past year at UCL, I’ve worked across marketing, partnerships, and cross-society collaboration. One pattern keeps showing up: the societies that grow fastest are the ones that treat outreach like relationship-building.
If elected, my goal is to make our Society feel well-connected, visible, and professionally positioned across UCL and beyond!
I will focus on:
→ Smarter cross-society collaboration: Partnering intentionally with Business, Entrepreneurs, Media, and other communities so our events reach the students who actually care.
→ More strategic external outreach: Clearer value propositions when approaching brands, agencies, and speakers — so we don’t just ask for attention, we earn it.
→ Consistent relationship follow-through: Not one-off contacts, but partnerships that build over the year and compound the society’s reputation.
Why me?
Because I naturally think in networks. I pay attention to who should be in the room, but isn’t yet. I’m organised in outreach and focused on long-term credibility.
Marketing & Advertising Society already has strong energy. My commitment is to make sure more of the right people are connected to it.
If you want outreach that actually expands the society’s orbit, I’d genuinely value your vote.

Hi! I’m Hayley, an incoming final-year French with Management student. I’ll be returning to UCL from Paris after my Year Abroad, and I’m running to be your MarkAd Soc Head of Outreach!
As Head of Outreach, I would collaborate with individuals and organisations from UCL and beyond for a variety of exciting and pertinent opportunities in marketing and advertising. I believe that through human-to-human connections, we can add value to student life together. I would utilise my experience as Vice President of External Relations of UCL United Nations Association in 2024-25 to identify inspirational speakers, and to organise rewarding events.
If elected, I would be dedicated and committed to the Head of Outreach role. I would facilitate members’ access to resources and opportunities, identify members’ needs in an empathetic and non-judgemental manner, and contribute to a positive experience with UCL MarkAd Soc. I’d be honoured to have your vote :)

Hi, I’m Christina, a first-year Geography and Economics student at UCL with a strong passion for marketing, creativity, and building inclusive communities. I’ve greatly enjoyed following the Marketing & Advertising Society’s campaigns, workshops, and industry panels this year, and I’m inspired by its mission to equip students with practical skills and professional confidence.
If elected President, I would focus on three priorities.
First, strengthening the society’s brand identity and digital presence. I would develop more cohesive campaigns across Instagram and LinkedIn, introduce consistent visual templates, and highlight member achievements, events, and opportunities through stronger storytelling and content strategy.
Second, expanding partnerships and outreach. I aim to build closer relationships with industry professionals, alumni, and other UCL societies to create collaborative events and broaden access to career pathways in marketing and advertising.
Third, delivering practical, career-focused programming. This includes hands-on workshops such as brand audits, live campaign briefs, digital strategy sessions, portfolio clinics, and networking evenings that connect members directly with professionals.
I believe effective leadership is strategic, creative, and collaborative. My goal is to make the society more visible, professionally impactful, and welcoming to students of all experience levels, ensuring every member feels inspired to learn, create, and grow.
