Libertarian Society: Treasurer

Hii I’m Romey,

I came to UCL in September and have attended most of the Libertarian Society events as it’s one of the few societies I actually care about - specifically I love that it’s a society where anyone can say their opinion without cancellation whether we agree or not :) 

You should elect me as your treasurer because I will ensure that members get the most out of the Libertarian Soc for the money they invest in our society. I am very ambitious (and know a lot of people) so I will always raise our society’s profile.

Additionally, as a student who has had to budget my maintenance loan, I have a huge amount of experience in handling money and making quick financial decisions. 

If you all elect me, I’ll focus on:

• Maintaining financial transparency so that all paying members know where their money is going.
• Pricing events to maximise attendance along with the goal of creating even bigger events with higher profile speakers. 
• Proper financial planning by creating a reserve so that we don’t have to get by only from event to event.

Since coming to UCL, it has been lovely being part of the Libertarian Society under the exceptional leadership of Samiksha (starting a new society in first year is quite fun). The Libertarian Soc is a rare space on campus where we have absolute free speech and the necessary critical thinking skills, which is why I want to give back to this society by serving you as treasurer.

You only live once, 

And it would be an excellent use of free will to vote for me.
