Law for All Society: President

Hello, my name is Esme, I am a second-year History student, and I am running to be Law for All’s President for the next academic year!

After joining the society in my first year and later being elected Commercial Awareness Officer, I have gained valuable insight into how the society operates, as well as the areas in which we can continue to grow. Alongside this committee position, I have attended several open days, legal events and insight schemes, and I would be keen to share my insights on these processes to help other members navigate these opportunities.

As President, I wish to focus on three key areas.

1. Expanding our law firm engagement by increasing the number and variety of firm events we host. This would include events with UK and US firms, sector-focused firms, as well as non-commercial law firms, helping members better understand the range of opportunities available. 
2. Strengthening Law for All’s social element. While the society maintains an academic and careers focus, I believe that the social aspect will enable us to create a more welcoming and supportive community at UCL.
3. Increasing access to commercial awareness and application support by maintaining a consistent society newsletter, expanding support sessions, and creating an application bank containing advice from peers who have been successful in the application process.

I am committed to ensuring that the society continues to grow and maintains consistency throughout the year in terms of events, socials and support!
