سڵاوتان لئبئ! من دارینم
Now more than ever, there is an increasing demand for Kurdish people to unite and join and participate within their community. However, I know that university life - between deadlines, heavy workloads and speaking up for our brothers and sisters being affected back home - can take a heavy toll on you as a student. I'm running for Welfare Officer to make sure members don't struggle in silence, and feel welcome in the society. I know it can be intimidating especially as a newcomer to start to integrate into the wider Kurdish community, however I would like to make sure society members feel comfortable, and enjoy themselves as much as possible in their journey connecting with their Kurdish culture. With events such as the conflict in Rojava at the moment, its completely understandable that members may feel affected, as our hearts and minds go out to those at risk and fighting at the moment. As Welfare Officer, I would like to ensure that the society is a space where individuals won't have to carry that weight alone, helping to find strength in community.
