!من ناوم گیان ە ، خۆشحاڵم بە ناسینتان

As a Kurdish girl from Slemani, born in London and having also lived in Kurdistan, Hawler, throughout my youth, I feel deeply connected to both our homeland and our diaspora community. This dual experience has shaped my passion for strengthening our Kurdish community and celebrating our culture, while building a stronger bridge between our heritage in Kurdistan and our presence in London, particularly within UCL. Having attended numerous Kurdish events across different universities, including many Newroz celebrations, I have seen firsthand the power of unity and cultural pride. These experiences have inspired me to take on a more active role in ensuring that Kurdish students feel represented, supported, and heard throughout the academic year. From organising cultural events to supporting important causes such as raising awareness about Halabja and standing in solidarity with Rojava, I am committed to ensuring that our society is culturally conscious. Most importantly, I want to strengthen communication within our community, foster enthusiasm, and deepen our understanding of who we are and what we represent. I am determined to help create a strong, united, and confident Kurdish Society at UCL — one where every Kurdish student feels proud to speak about their identity, celebrate their culture openly, and rely on a supportive community that stands together with a loud and unwavering voice.
