Korean Culture Society: Treasurer

I’m standing for Treasurer because I want the Korean Culture Society to run smoothly, transparently, and sustainably. One practical way I want to support this is by building and maintaining a simple Korean Culture Society website, so members can easily see key information, events, and how funds are used.

I’m detail-oriented and comfortable managing numbers, processes, and deadlines. As Treasurer, I would keep our finances clear and accessible: set a simple budget plan each term, track spending consistently, and provide short, regular updates so the committee always knows where we stand. I also want to make reimbursements and event payments more straightforward by creating clear guidelines and templates.

I would also work closely with the President and Events team to forecast costs early, avoid last-minute spending, and ensure each event has a clear budget and a post-event summary. This will help us plan more confidently and use our funds where they have the biggest impact.

The website could include an events calendar, ticket links, FAQs, sponsorship information, and a transparent summary of spending. Finally, I’ll keep receipts and finance records organised in a shared drive to make reimbursements faster and handovers smoother for future committees. I want our processes to feel simple and welcoming, especially for new committee members.

Overall, I want to help the Korean Culture Society grow with good planning, responsible spending, and better organisation.
