Fama Ndoye

Hi everyone ! Im Fama and I am so happy to nominate myself for the position of Welfare officer for the Kickboxing Society.

Having been an active member of the KS for the past two years, attending training regularly each week, the society has become an important part of my university experience. Kickboxing has consistently been one of the best ways for me to step away from academic pressure, and focus on both my physical and mental wellbeing.

Alongside being a committed member, I have also served as WO in another society this academic year, where I gained practical experience in supporting student wellbeing and fostering an inclusive environment. In this role, I made it a priority to regularly check in with members to ensure everyone felt comfortable, supported, and able to enjoy their involvement in the society.

If elected, I would aim to ensure that every member of the KS feels safe, welcome, and supported regardless of experience level or background. I would also encourage opportunities for social interaction outside training sessions to further strengthen the sense of community that makes the society so enjoyable.

Kickboxing is more than just training; it is a space where students can grow in confidence, manage stress, and support one another. Having personally benefited from this environment over the past two years, I would be honoured to give back to the society by serving as WO and helping maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for all members.

Robbie Morrison

Hi!!! My name's Robbie and I'm running for welfare officer. I'm a 1st year PhD student in quantum physics and I started kickboxing this year. My previous experience as a welfare officer has shown me that whilst it's important and necessary to help and direct people to resources, a lot of the time people may not feel comfortable speaking face to face. Along with offering in-person guidance, I aim to make a Linktree with resources UCL and other organisations offer that you can access independently. I'd also aim to make sure everyone feels welcome at kickboxing - I get how scary joining a society can be! Please do come and chat to me during any of the sessions and I hope to have your vote :)
