Idman Abdi Ali

Hi everyone! Joining this society has been a surprising but fulfilling journey this academic year. The Jitsu club is an incredibly supportive and exciting community and I would love to gain a role to continue the club’s expansion and thrilling evolution.

I’ve held leadership positions such as being the Lead Academic Representative in my first year and as a Transition Mentor in my second year. Thus, I have had practise in being a bridge between students and faculty. I excel in maintaining effective communication, staying current on UCL’s policies, ensuring successful organisation in scheduling and providing tailored services to handle any problems.

Main initiatives

  • Growth - gaining new members and expanding our reach within UCL through collaborating with other societies.
  • Transparency - Working alongside the instructors to provide a clearer understanding of the syllabus and what we actually learn within sessions. I want to secure our knowledge of any new terminology and help fill in any gaps between sessions. I would propose organising a termly planner detailing what is needed for grading and what we can do in our spare time to facilitate constant improvement
  • Community - continuing to make fun, inventive socials to build closer relationships within the society and club. I would also plan to build more relationships within the TJJF to expand our community outside of UCL.

I am ready to work hard for the club, ensuring our success to be the best club we can be!!
