My name is Muhibur Rahman, a Mechanical Engineering student at UCL. During my time at university, ISoc has been a key part of my experience, providing a space for spiritual growth, community, and meaningful connections.
Through attending and supporting ISoc initiatives, I have seen the impact the society has on students. Inspired by the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), “The believer to the believer is like a building whose different parts support one another,” I hope to contribute to strengthening our community.
As Treasurer, my goal is to ensure ISoc has the financial stability to continue delivering impactful events and initiatives for students.
My priorities will be:
• Financial sustainability – Diversifying funding through sponsorships, grants, and partnerships with alumni and community organisations.
• Responsible budgeting – Managing finances carefully to maximise the impact of ISoc initiatives while ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Stronger fundraising – Introducing creative fundraising campaigns and building collaborations with Muslim charities and organisations.
• Supporting key initiatives – Advocating for sustainable funding for important events such as Ramadan iftars and charity projects through partnerships with the Students’ Union and UCL.
ISoc plays a vital role in supporting Muslim students at UCL, and I am committed to helping ensure it continues to grow and serve our community. I would be honoured to have your support.
