Hello :)

I’m nominating myself for Treasurer because I’m detail-oriented, responsible, and motivated to help Introvert Society run smoothly behind the scenes.

Although I haven’t attended many socials yet (living up to my introvert side), being a member has made me realise I want to contribute more than just attend. I love the calm, low-pressure space this society creates, a place where quiet presence is enough to be felt. In a world that often rewards loudness, this community offers comfort, belonging, and room to breathe. That kind of space is rare, and it deserves sustainable, thoughtful support.

As Treasurer, I would ensure our finances reflect these values. Behind every event is budgeting, planning, and accountability. Good financial management allows us to host meaningful events while reducing stress and building trust. Stability also translates into comfort and relaxation for everyone else.

As Varsity tennis captain for three years, I organised overseas competitions and managed expenses, ensuring fairness and accuracy. I’m comfortable working independently, focusing deeply, and handling responsibility with care.

If elected, I will keep transparent records, manage reimbursements responsibly, and work closely with the committee to create thoughtful, financially realistic events that truly reflect our members’ needs.

I’m ready to step forward, grow, and help protect the peaceful, welcoming environment that makes this society special.

Nadia Mohd Shahrulnizam

Hello everyone! I’m Nadia - an INTJ and also your current Year 1 (read Student) Representative for Introverts Society.

The activities for the first academic year of this society have so far been a joy to participate in and I’m sure many of you can say the same. I hope our new event ideas for the rest of this term, and the next academic year, will result in memorable activities that Introverts Society has to offer for you.

Through my experience as the Treasurer in my groups for Malaysian Society’s Representative Director Programme, I am confident in financial management and enjoy budgeting when planning events. One of my goals is to help ensure that we in the society are comfortable finding our community, while creating new opportunities for fun and potentially bigger activities. Tailored for introverts of course!

As Treasurer my primary aims are to:

1. Budget for activities accordingly while allocating some funds towards more major events at least once per term.

2. Allot enough funds for refreshments for the regular sessions so students will feel more relaxed and content after lectures.

3. Negotiate for affordable and reasonable prices for external activities when applying for funding with Student Union.

4. Ensure complete transparency of the society’s financial operations and that payments are fully utilised for the respective event or are reinvested for future activities.

With that said, let us all work together to make this society a fun and inclusive community for everyone!

Rachel Lai

Hi, I’m Rachel and I’m a first year Psychology student! I’m running for treasurer because I would love to give back to the society and I believe I have the qualities suited for this role.

A common characteristic of an introvert is thoughtfulness, which will help me in the role of treasurer when managing finances responsibly. Furthermore, I am organised, in both my time management and when handling my own budget, which I believe is also essential to the role. In addition, my mathematical ability is well-consolidated due to previous experience in further maths, statistics and tallying money. Also, I would love the opportunity to support this society as a committee member. I want to give back to the society by ensuring that events can keep running smoothly and keeping society events affordable so that everyone can enjoy them without having to worry about financial burdens.

Thank you for considering me and I hope we can continue to make this a welcoming space for all people!
