Saavan Patel

I want to be Indian Society President next year because I have the organisational skills needed to run a large, active society in a structured, reliable, and sustainable way. Indian Society events involve many moving parts — coordinating venues, performers, sponsors, finances, welfare considerations, and committee members — and I am confident in my ability to manage these simultaneously while maintaining high standards. I plan well in advance, set clear timelines, and delegate responsibilities effectively so that everyone understands their role and feels accountable.

I also believe strong organisation means thinking beyond individual events and planning for the year as a whole. I would create a balanced calendar that reflects the cultural, social, and professional aims of the society while being realistic about academic pressures and budget constraints. This long-term planning helps maintain momentum, avoids burnout within the committee, and ensures consistent engagement from members rather than short bursts of activity.

I prioritise clear documentation, regular check-ins, and open decision-making so that the committee works as a cohesive team and external stakeholders trust the society’s professionalism. Ultimately, I want to be President as I enjoy turning ideas into well-executed outcomes, and I believe strong organisation is what allows Indian Society to be inclusive, dependable, and respected throughout the year.
