I will make all the events live and I’ll ensure everyone takes part.. I didn’t use ChatGPT unlike everyone else..
I’m applying for Head of Music for Indian Society because music has always been such a huge part of who I am, both personally and culturally. I’ve been actively involved in music for years having sang, and played both the saxophone and piano for 10 years. I’ve grown up performing at cultural functions and community events, where music has always been at the heart of bringing people together. Being part of Rangeela was such a uni highlight for me; it showed me how powerful performance can be in creating energy, confidence and unity within our community. But more than just performing myself, what really matters to me is encouraging others to get involved. Music is such an easy and joyful way to connect people, especially at events like a Sangeet where everyone, regardless of experience, can participate and feel included. On a broader level, I genuinely love India Soc having attended so many events and I admire the atmosphere, the inclusivity and the sense of belonging. I’d love the opportunity to contribute to that in a bigger way and help create musical experiences that bring even more people together.
Dance and music have been central to my life since I was six years old. What started as a childhood passion has grown into years of performance, training and leadership. I understand how important music is to events; it builds energy and adds atmosphere. I aim to cultivate this same atmosphere, but on an even larger scale.
I have been an assistant instructor at Bollywood Dance School Uk since 2023, an experience that has strengthened my technical abilities alongside my leadership and management skills. Teaching has allowed me to understand what elements are present in a good and entertaining performance or event. Beyond this, experience backstage and onstage at film shoots and other corporate events has taught me professionalism and communication.
As head of music, I aim to create and organise events and performances that are inclusive, genuinely enjoyable and showcase our Indian culture. I want to promote talent at all levels, whether someone is stepping on stage for the first time or has years of experience. Moreover, I aspire to create a space where performers feel confident, supported, and proud of what they produce; the same way I feel when I perform.
Being Head of Music allows me to share my love of the arts and inspire. I am ready to bring energy and creativity to this role, ensuring musical events are not only enjoyable for the audiences but the performers.
I’ve grown up listening to Indian music, singing them and playing them on the guitar. I’d love to promote Indian music in Indian Soc and organise musical events like Sangeet!
