Indian Dance Society: Social Secretary

Hi, my name is Sam, and I'm so excited to be running for UCL Indian Dance Society Social Secretary!

This society has helped me make so many friends in university, and helped me find an amazing community of people. I would love to give back and help other people in this society connect together by planning society socials and other events! 

Some things I had in mind were:

• Movie nights - bringing everyone together with classic Bollywood movies, along with good food and vibes
• Games nights - having the chance to compete with a each other in a dance-related games night
• More socials and events surrounding Naach, Indian Dance Society's Winter Cultural Showcase - one particular idea I had in mind was putting teams together for an evening and asking them to dance together and fuse their styles - an amazing chance to dance with new people and expose yourself to different styles of dance!
• An evening where people split into teams and create the choreography in groups, then perform to each other - dancing with people who you never would have usually, hopefully making more connections in the society

My biggest importance, regardless of my ideas, would be hearing from the society members to plan ideas for socials that everyone would enjoy!

In terms of organisation, I have the skills to make sure that events go smoothly and with as few hiccups as possible - I am problem solving, and good at communication with others to make sure everything goes as according to plan as possible.
