Indian Dance Society: President

Hi! I'm Resham and I'm excited to be running for IDS President 26-27!

Why Me?

• Being part of IDS as an FYR has given me a real understanding of how the society runs and what makes it special (wholesomeness!)
• Dance has always been a big part of my life (trained in commerical and bnat which has taught me discipline and consistency)
• Experience in coordinating and managing timelines for showcases and competitions (I have supported the planning of showcases within my dance company which has made me proactive and reliable)
• Strong clear communication (I'm a yapper..)
• Driven to ensuring tasks are completed on time 

My Aims:

• IDS already feels like a close and supportive space, and I want to protect that while helping it grow
• Celebrating a range of South Asian dance styles (including more styles in the weekly classes)
• Creating more chances for members to perform, internally and externally
• Increasing collaboration with other cultural societies across UCL and beyond
• Media team improving filming, reels and promotion so our work reaches a wider audience
• Increasing funding and potentially (hopefully) getting sponsors to help make events better!!

Potential Plans and Events:

• Larger Naach showcase with stronger promotion and better engagement 
• More regular socials like just dance, games nights and movie nights embracing South Asian culture
• Dance and Dine evenings where everyone gets an opportunity to choreo and ends with a social
