Alexander Levitt

Hi! I’m Alex, and I am very eager to become our Society’s Editorial Officer.

I have experience editing a History journal at school. I thoroughly enjoyed liaising with the contributors and editing their articles. As part of this role, also, I was part of the school’s History Society committee – and thus got valuable experience of working as part of a group of people.

I have also further developed my administrative skills through my role as interim Treasurer of our History Society, in which I have helped to organise events and learnt a lot about running a society.

Perhaps most important of all, however, I am a passionate historian, and I am enthralled by the prospect of a return to editing a journal.

Therefore, I’d be extremely grateful for your vote!

All the best, Alex

Hi, my name is Dan, and despite being a first-year Law student, I have a years-long love with History as a subject (almost to the point of accepting an offer to study it at UCL)

Despite Law being the focus of my academic studies, that hasn't stopped me from engaging with History outside of my course. What better way to unwind than watching anything from Sam O'Nella, BlueJay, Armchair Historian, or Vox on YouTube? All of the above are fantastic channels for anyone in the know ;)

Because of this long-standing love of anything historical, I love the idea of engaging more closely with the History Society, supporting our community of fellow history nerds, and creating a space where we can all bond over our niche 'Roman empires.'

With that in mind, I would love to be your next year's Editorial Officer. I have extensive writing experience, contributing to my high school newspaper over a number of years with a total of 5 pieces on a wide range of topics, and at UCL, with contributions to Silk v Brief, the Law Society's journal, and an in-the-works piece for the 2nd edition of the History Society journal.

As the Editorial Officer, I fully intend to expand the History Society Journal and make it a fun space where we can all rant about our passions or whatever person, era, or weird historical happenstance we just happen to have stuck in our minds at that very moment!

Help me bring this vision to life, and I promise our journal will become the pride of the History Society!!

Vote Dan Dummies!
