I would love to be Sponsorship Officer because I want to help support the events and community that have made my experience in Hindu Society so enjoyable. Some of my closest friendships at university have come through Hindusoc events, and I would like to contribute to making these events even bigger and better next year.
I have lots of experience communicating and working with organisations. As Deputy School captain I had the responsibility of managing the schools business intern. I organised and attended corporate partner events and worked closely with professionals, which helped me develop confidence in networking and professional communication. I also took part in a Dragons’ Den style competition where we pitched ideas to corporate partners, which strengthened my ability to present ideas clearly.
Through this role, I would aim to build strong relationships with sponsors to help support Hindusoc’s events and create more opportunities for the community.
Hi, I am Dhanvi and I would like to run for Sponsorship officer!
I am applying for this role because through attending Hindu society events this year, I have come to appreciate the effort that goes into making these events possible. I would love to be a part of this effect and help the society grow to strengthen its presence within the university community. Hindu society plays an essential role in bringing people together through culture and celebration and I believe that through securing strong sponsorships, we can elevate the society's events and create more opportunities for members to engage with Hindu culture and traditions.
My background makes me well-fit for this role as in sixth form I ran the medical society in my school where I was often in contact with guest speakers in the healthcare field to organise events for the society. This experience enhanced my communication and negotiation skills which I will undoubtedly bring with me to this role.
Overall, I am committed to being proactive, organized, and collaborative in this role. With strong partnerships and new ideas, I hope to help the Hindu Society continue growing and creating memorable experiences for all members!
I have thoroughly enjoyed every Hindu Society event I’ve been to this year and hope to deliver the same experience to everyone next year by securing good sponsorships and funding. As someone who has shadowed a few negotiations between my local communities and different companies like VB&Sons, I believe that I have the ability to carry out similar deals for Hindu Society. For example, I saw my local temple negotiate 4,000 watermelons from Kingsbury Fruit and Veg in exchange for adequate advertising. I also have a lot of leadership experience from being an FYR for Jain Society and part of the Treasury team for Northolt Garba. Organisation is vital for running events as big as garba so I have experience with planning ahead and ensuring things run smoothly. Finally, I’d love to work alongside a committee as welcoming as this one and to continue to make Hindu Society feel like a home.
Hi, I'm Tanya and I would love to be Sponsorship Officer for UCL Hindu Society! I am keen to apply for the role of Sponsorship Officer as I enjoy positions that require strong communication, collaboration, and organisation. The role involves acting as the main point of contact with external partners, networking with companies, and coordinating sponsorships for society events. I believe my experience makes me well suited to take on this responsibility. If elected, I would work closely with the rest of the committee to manage partnerships with external companies and ensure everything runs smoothly for events like Rangeela and other society activities. I would focus on researching and approaching companies that are a good fit for the society, while making sure partnerships are beneficial for both sponsors and members. I’ve attended many Hindu Society events and have seen how much work goes on behind the scenes to make them successful. I really appreciate the effort that the committee puts in, and I’d love the opportunity to be part of that and help contribute to the society’s continued growth and success. Thank you!
Being part of Hindu Society this year has been incredibly special. I have had the chance to attend so many amazing events and experience such a welcoming community. What has stood out most to me is the strong network of partnerships that make these events possible. From cultural celebrations to large socials, it is clear the society has built meaningful relationships with sponsors, and I would love the opportunity to build on the strong foundations created by previous committees.
Having grown up and studied in London, I was also part of the Hindu Society at my school where I helped organise events and gained some experience communicating with sponsors. When looking into some of the society’s sponsors this year, I noticed businesses like Guptas supporting multiple Hindu societies. Funnily enough, Guptas also sponsored my school’s Hindu Society, which showed me how these long-standing partnerships can support communities across different institutions.
Alongside this, I served as a Warrant Officer First Class in the Navy Cadets, where I developed leadership, organisation, and communication skills. This role taught me how important outreach and responsibility are when bringing people together.
For me, sponsorship is about building lasting relationships that help the society grow and create even bigger, more inclusive events for everyone.
I believe I would be a good fit for Sponsorship Officer as I am interested in helping the society expand its partnerships and secure the funding needed to support bigger events. The UCL Hindu Society plays a key role in building a cultural community, and I would like to contribute by improving relationships with businesses and discerning new sponsorship opportunities that benefit the society. Through co-founding start-ups, I have developed experience in outreach, negotiation, and pitching ideas to external partners. As CFO of a start-up, I made financial projections and presented our plans to investors, which helped secure £1.5k in funding. I also worked directly with customers at trade fairs, developing the confidence and communication skills needed to represent an organisation expertly. These experiences have prepared me well for talking to companies, fostering partnerships, and securing sponsorship deals. As President of my school’s Economics Society, I worked with a committee to organise activities and secure funding, helping increase attendance by 300% and making us the most funded society in the school. This experience taught me the importance of organisation and teamwork when managing projects. As Sponsorship Officer, I would aim to build relationships with businesses and help develop professional sponsorship packages in collaboration with the marketing team and focus on finding sponsors that ensure the society has the resources to continue running successful events.
Hey everyone, I'm Reet and I'm applying for sponsorship officer!!
Hindu soc has spread so much love and had so many festivities this year, and it really created a sense of community and homeliness, and I would be dedicated in helping the committee secure amazing sponsorships and create even better events for our community. I feel suited for this role because of my previous experience in events organisation: as a charity representative who partook in holding fundraisers at my school, I have had experience with communicating with different countries/groups of people to create events, and through my finance internships, I value the importance of building and maintaining relationships with sponsors and charities to ensure that all contractual agreements are upheld throughout the year.
I’d love your vote to help make next year our best yet!!
I’m applying for the role of Sponsorship Officer as I enjoy building relationships and helping initiatives grow through strong partnerships.
Throughout school I played a major role in organising and leading charity initiatives, helping raise over £30,000 for charitable causes through fundraising campaigns and community events. This involved coordinating teams, reaching out to external supporters, and encouraging people to contribute to causes we believed in. Through this experience, I developed strong communication, organisation, and outreach skills that are directly relevant to securing sponsorships and maintaining partnerships.
Alongside this, I also founded my school’s Economics & Finance Society, where I organised events and brought students together around shared interests.
I can use my expertise to maximise funds for HSoc so we can run the best events next year.
Most importantly, I'm just a great guy to be around.
Namaste Everyone,
I am excited to run for the Sponsorship officer at the Hindu Society, driven by my growing passion to collaborate with innovative businesses, and negotiate deals. As an Economics student, I bring a solid understanding of financial negotiations and a focus on securing profitable partnerships. I excel in environments that require strategic thinking, clear communication, and strong relationship building. One of my key achievements was leading a National Young Enterprise team as CEO, where I secured sponsorship deals with two local firms, including a multimillion pound beverage company, for our exhibitions and competitions. As President of Sixth Form Indian Society, I also partnered with local restaurants for cultural and charity events.
As a Sponsorship Officer, my aim is to expand our outreach, engaging a diverse range of partners - from tech startups and wellness brands to cultural organizations and multinational firms - to elevate the scale and impact of our events. I will ensure every partnership reflects the core values of Hinduism, keeping faith and tradition at the heart of our decisions, while prioritising long term, meaningful relationships.
Hinduism is at the heart of my identity and joy. Last summer, performing on the dhol in Pune’s largest ganesh festival parade was an exhilarating experience that reconnected me to my vibrant roots. I am excited to nurture this spirit and transform our celebrations into unforgettable experiences for all.
Thank you.
Hi! My name is Shreeya and I am studying Chemistry with maths! I believe that I am a suitable candidate for this role, as I have professional communication skills and organisational skills. I have had experience with working and liaising with businesses. As, as a previous head girl, I played a huge role in organising a successful Sixth Form prom. In that role, I had to negotiate with businesses, DJ’s, photographers and venues, to get the best price and best packages for the year group. Through this role as head girl, I have enhanced my leadership skills and teamwork skills, as well as furthering my negotiation skills. Throughout my life, I have worked for charities, such as St Lukes Hospice, which has allowed me to see how they work. Being a part of drama productions and concerts, I have been able to see how they work behind the scenes. Through this role, I will ensure that the UCL Hindu Society gets the best sponsorships and deals, such as DJ’s for major events or businesses for student discounts, so that we can minimise cost and so we are able to plan many more amazing events. I will ensure that plans are made effectively before dealing with businesses. In this role, I would hope to liaise with many more businesses and charities. For example local temples, to partner with for the food sevas, and other food businesses like Sakonis for our events. In conclusion, through this role I aim to find more ways to support UCL Hindu Society to celebrate our religion and culture.
