Upon starting university earlier this year, I was in search of familiarity in a new environment. Through UCL HSoc, I found culture and community straight from the get go. The values of love, compassion and commitment that are seen throughout this society resonate deeply with me and are the true reason why it really is my home away from home. Being involved in so much of Hindu Society this year as an FYR, ranging from weekly Sanskaar sessions to Rangeela 2026, has only heightened my ambition to be part of actively improving on this already amazing community.
My experiences of competing at a national-level in tennis have required me to perform in high pressure environments whilst making instantaneous decisions, and maintaining focus. The same level of steadiness and clarity is what I will bring as President of Hindu Society. Meeting every challenge with calm leadership rather than reaction, especially during high-stakes events like Rangeela. Being an FYR this year for HSoc, I have been fortunate enough to understand what it takes to lead, delegate and learn from others in a team.
As President, I will aim to build a sense of shared dharma by striving to create a culture that encompasses the teachings imparted to us by Krishna in the Gita, such as Karma Yoga and Seva (selfless service). This coupled with my calm, considerate and welcoming nature makes me adept to make the difference as YOUR PRESIDENT.
