Being Hindu forms a core part of my identity, and I carry it with pride. Spending many summers in Kerala with my grandparents inspired devotion. I have fond memories of travelling almost annually to Guruvayur, Kerala’s most spiritual site. I admired how my grandparents patiently endured long queues in the heat, and how even simple moments like stopping for idli and dosa along the way became joyful rituals. These experiences taught me how faith intertwined with activities bring family and friends closer together.
Joining HSOC at UCL was one of my first steps in finding familiarity and friendship, showing me how cultural societies help students find a sense of belonging and home. I want to give back to that community by planning events and creating spaces where other students also feel comfortable and included.
Applying for the role of Marketing Officer feels like the most natural fit for me. I have shown an interest in creating digital content from an early age which started with making music videos on iMovie, to running a YouTube channel during lockdown, and most recently as filming TikToks and having a shared Instagram account with my secondary school friends. While these experiences taught me technical skills in editing, and social media engagement, it also taught me how to communicate ideas in fun and creative ways. I am keen on creating content that celebrates Hinduism, educates our community, and building relationships with other committee members.
Being part of UCL Hindu Society has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my first year. From the people I’ve met to the incredible events like Garba and Rangeela, the society has felt like a home away from home. I’ve been able to connect with others, celebrate our culture, and grow spiritually.
Even after not being selected as an FYR, I continued attending events which only strengthened my desire to contribute more actively and help the society's continuous growth and success.
I believe the Sales/Marketing role is where I can add the most value. I've had hands on experience in sales, communication, and promoting initiatives through cold calling which i did alongside university. Alongside this, I have relevant experience creating content. I ran a football TikTok editing account that grew to over 5,000 followers within a few months, where I regularly created edits using After Effects and CapCut. I also have experience with basic graphic design and social media promotion, which I would use to help create engaging promotional material for events, festivals, sports and informative posts alongside the Sanskaar team.
Ultimately, I’m eager to give back to Hindu Soc by helping to promote its events creatively and effectively, ensuring every event reaches as many people as possible and continue to contribute to the sucess of this society.
Hi, I’m Tanya, and I would love to be Marketing Officer for UCL Hindu Society! I’ve always been passionate about our culture, and being part of this society has already given some of my favourite memories. I want to help make our community more vibrant and inclusive – making every member feel connected and excited about what the society has to offer. I have experience with social media and video editing programmes, which I have used to create engaging, attention-grabbing content. I love thinking creatively about how to showcase and advertise events, for example through posters, stories or reels. I enjoy staying on top of trends, and I think I can help make our marketing exciting. Additionally, I understand that organisation and planning are important for successful marketing. I am motivated and able to prioritise tasks so that posts and updates run smoothly and on time – especially around bigger events (such as Rangeela or Diwali Ball). If I am chosen as Marketing Officer, I aim to help elevate Hindu Society’s presence and increase engagement – building excitement for events before they even begin. Thank you!
Hi, I’m Kavya, and I’d like to run for Sales and Marketing Officer!
I have always had a strong creative interest in art and design, which I enjoy applying when creating promotional content. I naturally notice details like colour, layout, and overall presentation, and I think that really matters when you want people to engage with what you’re sharing. I’m confident using Canva to design posters, and I enjoy experimenting with different styles to make designs that are easy to read and grab attention. Hindu Society is more than events; it represents culture and community, and I want to use these tools to make sure that our marketing reflects that with authenticity and purpose.
I also stay up to date with social media trends, keeping up with what works on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. I’d love to help make Hindu Society’s social media lively and engaging, a place that not only showcases our events in a fun way but also encourages more people to join by reaching a wider audience.
On top of that, I’m organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once. I’m used to working with deadlines and planning ahead, so I can make sure everything is ready on time and runs smoothly. Most importantly, I’m really excited about the chance to be part of the committee. I understand how much work goes into running the society and organising events, and I would love to contribute to it and help Hindu Society continue to grow even more, hopefully becoming the most successful it has ever been!
Hi everyone! My name is Dhanvi and I would like to run for the role of a Marketing officer.
I am particularly interested in this role because it combines creativity with strategy and I believe that effective marketing will ensure that the society grows to be bigger and better.
I have experience with both photo and video editing platforms such as canva and abode from being on the digital team for the medical journal in my school, which gives me the skills to create high-quality captivating content that draws the attention of the Hindu society community and ensures that events have a successful turn-out. Furthermore, being a regular social media user means that I am up to date with the new trends and can bring more creative new ideas to attract a wider audience .
Through working in a team in sports and projects, I have learnt the importance of teamwork and collaborating with others which I aim to bring with me to this role. Lastly, I would love to be a part of the Hindu society committee family. For me Hindu society, is about contributing to something meaningful, helping others feel welcome, and strengthening a community that supports its members both socially and spiritually. I wish to make many more meaningful memories and lasting contributions next year!
My name is Srishti, and I am running for Sales and Marketing Officer. Hindu Soc has shaped my first year, and I want to play a key role in helping it grow, reach more people and continue being the welcoming space that it was for me. Marketing is often the first impression people get of a society, and I want that first impression to reflect the warm community feel I experienced. I aim to use my skills to enhance how Hindu Soc is represented, making sure our events are seen, our message is clear and inclusive, and our culture is celebrated in a way that is both engaging and informative. My background in Spiritual Sai Education (SSE) has given me a strong foundation in understanding and explaining Hindu values and traditions. Through outreach in care homes, visits to Peace Pagodas, and discussions about faith and spirituality, I’ve learned how powerful clear and thoughtful communication is, and I want to bring that into our social media presence. By organising and balancing responsibilities while promoting initiatives effectively, I believe I can help push Hindu soc to have more outreach. Those skills are part of why I feel motivated to take on this role- I enjoy being behind the scenes making things run smoothly and ensuring nothing gets overlooked. I also enjoy the creative side of marketing like designing and editing posts. I’m running because I want to combine that creativity with my passion for Hindu Soc, helping us maintain and elevate our strong presence!
I'm standing for sales and marketing officer because I value the way hindu society is represented and how we engage with both our members and the wider student community to ensure an inclusive and interactive environment.
I'm familiar with platforms like TikTok and understand short-form content and current trends that would make any posts more exciting and viral. I've also previously edited and managed posts for my sixth form south asian society instagram and TikTok page as vice-president. Here, I created engaging content and made sure to post regularly with more vibrant colours and captions to increase interaction and turnout at events. Through this experience, I learned how important it is to make posts visually appealing, informative and interactive.
If elected, I'd love to produce more engaging as well as educational content about hinduism - working with the sanskaar team to spread the stories and knowledge I have been taught as a kid to the wider student community - explaining festivals, cultural insights and creating informative posts that are accessible and relatable. Having seen some of my friends on committee and multiple photos at events, I am aware of the warm and family-like energy in hindu society and would love to be part of something like that where I can help grow, connect and engage with members and the community more effectively.
I’m applying for Marketing Officer because I genuinely love my religion and would love to help showcase the beauty and depth of Hinduism in a creative and engaging way. I’ve grown up celebrating festivals, going to the temple regularly, and being surrounded by the traditions and values that shape our faith. Hinduism has always been such an important part of my identity, and I’d love to use marketing as a way to spread awareness, educate others, and highlight everything our society stands for. Whether that’s promoting events like Diwali, Navratri or Holi, or sharing meaningful messages about our philosophy and traditions, I’d want to present Hindu Soc in a way that feels vibrant, welcoming and authentic. I’ve always admired how positive and inclusive the society feels, and I’d be proud to represent it and help it reach even more people.
Namaste!
I’m Adi and I’d love to be Sales and Marketing Officer for Hindu Society at UCL.
I’m standing because I want to help strengthen Hindu Society’s online presence and help our events reach a wider audience. Social media plays a vital role in promoting our events and shaping how our society is perceived, and I have clear ideas to ensure our content remains engaging, consistent and creative.
Through managing my brother’s cricket social media accounts, I’ve developed short-form content that has reached over a million views across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, gaining engagement from major platforms such as ESPNcricinfo. This has given me hands-on experience in understanding audience engagement, maintaining consistency and producing content that genuinely connects with people.
This year, events such as Rangeela, D-Ball and Games Nights showed me how powerful well-marketed events can be in bringing our community together. Performing Garba at Rangeela was a highlight for me - it strengthened my confidence and helped me build lasting friendships. I want our social media to reflect that same warmth and energy, encouraging even more students to get involved.
I’m ready to bring fresh ideas, reliability and commitment to this role. Thank you!
I would like to apply for the role of Marketing Officer for Hindu Society. Being part of UCL HSoC’s Rangeela Showcase was one of the highlights of my year. Seeing how the marketing campaign built excitement around the event and contributed to such a strong turnout made me want to be involved in the team responsible for promoting and shaping events like this.
Through my role as an Indian Society First Year Representative, I gained practical experience promoting events and engaging members online. I helped create Instagram posts, stories, and promotional graphics, which allowed me to develop strong Canva and social media skills. This experience taught me how to design clear, visually engaging content while maintaining consistent branding and posting strategically to maximise engagement.
I am organised, creative, and enthusiastic about contributing to HSoC. As Marketing Officer, I would aim to strengthen the society’s online presence, effectively promote key events such as Rangeela, and help ensure that the effort behind these events reaches as many people as possible. I would value the opportunity to contribute to the team that brings the society’s events and initiatives to a wider audience.
Hi, I’m Saanvi Nagaraj and I’m a 1st Year Medic. I am applying to run for Marketing Officer for Hindu Society. I believe I am suitable for this role as it encompasses the publicity and social media aspects of the society. Previously at my Sixth Form, I was appointed as the Communications Prefect where I created the termly newsletter through leadership and delegating tasks to others in the wider Prefect Team as well as manage the Instagram and other socials. I also acted as the Publicity Officer for the Medic Mentor Virtual Medical Society where planning and communication was essential - I planned multiple sessions where presentations, social media posts and many publicity forms had to be created before the session was approved. In conclusion, I think I am suited for this role due to my vast experience dealing with promotional material and social media communications - skills necessary to excel in this role.
I believe I am a strong candidate for Marketing Officer for UCL Hindu Society as I have a clear understanding of digital promotion and a strong foundation in design. In the past, I have designed all advertisements for Sutton Cultural Club’s large-scale events, including Diwali and Saraswati Pooja, creating visually striking and culturally aligned content while developing a strong sense of branding and audience appeal.
Guided by my belief in Dharma, I also aided in designing the website and Instagram account for an India-based tech charity I volunteered with, helping build cohesive online branding to engage donors and students in tackling educational poverty in Indian villages.
Furthermore, I have also designed the yearbook for my secondary school, a project that required creativity, organisation and attention to detail across many months. Skills also highlighted through my new tiktok platform with my most recent video reaching 200,000 views and 25,000 likes in under a week. This emphasises my ability to identify trends and create resonating and well liked content, highlighting how I can maintain high design standards whilst being mindful of deadlines - an essential skill for this committee role.
Ultimately, I am enthusiastic to bring creativity and commitment to UCL Hindu society’s online presence and marketing value by using fresh and engaging ideas; I would be committed to promoting Hindu values, traditions and events in a creative, respectful and impactful way.
My name is Vaidehi Jatia, and I am looking forward to the potential opportunity to represent UCL Hindu Society as one of the Marketing Officers.
Marketing Officers are key as they represent and create the brand of a society, building an aesthetic and reflecting the values of the society. I believe I can do this effectively.
I am suitable for this role because I bring both technical experience and leadership and organizational skills that directly resonate with the responsibilities as a Marketing Officer.
For 6 years I ran a social media video editing account that showed off my creative work, accumulating more than 300 thousand views. Through this I learned how to:
- Create a brand and image
- Understand trends
- Time Management posting regularly
- Promote Material and Products
Additionally I also have used after effects for around 7 years, and regularly use platforms such as:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Premier Pro
- Illustrator
- Procreate
And can use simpler applications such as Capcut or Canva as well. Further filming my own content.
One of the core principles of Hindu Society is Seva, service and charity. During high school I documented my school's charity days surrounding refugees and art, filming content for social media and editing promotional videos collaboratively. I understand how through marketing it’s important not only to maintain aesthetic but to emphasize values.
To be one of the members representing Hindu Soc online, I would truly value your vote and the opportunity to represent you.
I am standing for Hindu Society Marketing Officer because I am passionate about celebrating and promoting our culture in a way that is inclusive, engaging, and accessible to everyone. Being part our community has always been an important part of my identity, and I want to help share events and initiatives that bring people together and make people happy. I’ve met some of my best friends through UCL hindu society, and I want to give everyone that same opportunity by increasing awareness of hindu society. As Marketing Officer, I would use creative campaigns, social media, and collaboration with other societies to increase attendance and membership. I am good with social media and I have a creative background, so I believe I am well suited for this role in that way too. I am organised, proactive, and confident in communicating ideas, and I believe I can effectively showcase our events, values, and community spirit across campus. I want to help our hindu community grow and thrive and make sure everyone feels included as much as possible.
