Saanvi Nagaraj

Hi, I’m Saanvi Nagaraj and I’m a 1st Year Medic. I am applying to run for Head of Marketing for Hindu Society. I believe I am suitable for this role as it encompasses the publicity and social media aspects of the society. Previously at my Sixth Form, I was appointed as the Communications Prefect where I created the termly newsletter through leadership and delegating tasks to others in the wider Prefect Team as well as manage the Instagram and other socials. I also acted as the Publicity Officer for the Medic Mentor Virtual Medical Society where planning and communication was essential - I planned multiple sessions where presentations, social media posts and many publicity forms had to be created before the session was approved. In conclusion, I think I am suited for this role due to my vast experience dealing with promotional material and social media communications - skills necessary to excel in this role.

Siddhi Subramanian

My religion and culture have instilled values in me that fundamentally shape who I am. UCL's Hindu Society has shown me that faith isn't static, but it grows and evolves, and there is no shame in exploring your religion at different stages of your life. Through this society, not only have I found genuine friendship but a true sense of community, something I am passionate about sharing with future cohorts.

As a creative and naturally social person, I thrive on connection and expression, which is why I am drawn to this role. To me, marketing is not just about content; it is about storytelling and giving people a taste of the experience so they crave it themselves. Studying psychology reinforces this, as I understand what individuals resonate with and what captures attention. My experience in the creative arts, specifically dance, has trained me to recognise what engages an audience and how to leave a lasting impression. Being a junior dance instructor has also instilled leadership and management skills in me

I have hands-on experience using software like CapCut and Canva, as well as navigating social media. I actively keep up with trends and am excited to translate this into content which reflects Hindu Society's values.

As Head of Marketing, I want to ensure every post reflects the warmth, inclusivity and energy of Hindu Society. I aim to bring a new perspective and creativity to Hindu Society. I want every student to feel what I feel, which is a true sense of belonging.

Tanya Rathod

Hi, I’m Tanya, and I would love to be Head of Marketing for UCL Hindu Society! I’ve always been passionate about our culture, and being part of this society has already given some of my favourite memories.  I want to help make our community more vibrant and inclusive – making every member feel connected and excited about what the society has to offer. I have experience with social media and video editing programmes, which I have used to create engaging, attention-grabbing content – gaining over 1000 followers in under a month. I love thinking creatively about how to showcase and advertise events, for example through posters, stories or reels. I enjoy staying on top of trends, and I think I can help make our marketing exciting. Additionally, I understand that organisation and planning are important for successful marketing. I am motivated and able to prioritise tasks so that posts and updates run smoothly and on time – especially around bigger events (such as Rangeela or Diwali Ball). If I am chosen as Head of Marketing, I aim to help elevate Hindu Society’s presence and increase engagement – building excitement for events before they even begin. Thank you!

Dhanvi Kasina

Hi everyone! My name is Dhanvi and I would like to run for Head of Marketing.

I am applying for this role because Hindu society plays an important cultural and social role on campus and I believe that effective marketing is key to increasing engagement from members of the society.

I am a good fit for this role because I have good organisation and time-management skills along with leadership experience. At school, I had a leadership position in organising pink week where I was actively promoting events in order to raise money and awareness towards breast cancer charities. From this, I developed my marketing skills and learnt how to delegate tasks and ensure that a team works efficiently which I aim to bring to this role.

Additionally, I have experience with editing platforms such as canva and abode from being on the digital team for the medical journal in my school, which gives me the skills to create high-quality captivating content that draws the attention of the wider Hindu society community and ensures that events have a successful turn-out. Furthermore, being a regular social media user means that I am up to date with the new trends and can bring more creative new ideas . Lastly, I would love to be a part of the Hindu society committee family to make many meaningful memories and lasting contributions next year!

Namaste!

I’m Adi and I’d love to be Head of Marketing for Hindu Society at UCL.

I’m standing because I want to help strengthen Hindu Society’s online presence and help our events reach a wider audience. Social media plays a vital role in promoting our events and shaping how our society is perceived, and I have clear ideas to ensure our content remains engaging, consistent and creative.

Through managing my brother’s cricket social media accounts, I’ve developed short-form content that has reached over a million views across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, gaining engagement from major platforms such as ESPNcricinfo. This has given me hands-on experience in understanding audience engagement, maintaining consistency and producing content that genuinely connects with people.

This year, events such as Rangeela, D-Ball and Games Nights showed me how powerful well-marketed events can be in bringing our community together. Performing Garba at Rangeela was a highlight for me - it strengthened my confidence and helped me build lasting friendships. I want our social media to reflect that same warmth and energy, encouraging even more students to get involved.

I’m ready to bring fresh ideas, reliability and commitment to this role. Thank you!
