Applying for General Secretary feels deeply meaningful to me because Hinduism shapes the way I approach responsibility and service. For me, it is not limited to rituals or festivals; it is a philosophy that guides everyday actions. It reminds me to support others without seeking recognition and to contribute to something larger than myself. Starting university can be an incredibly daunting experience, yet this society creates a space where faith and friendship come together naturally. I would love to be part of the committee that continues to develop and strengthen this environment.
As an FYR, I learned how much coordination and clear communication underpin every successful event. Supporting backstage at Rangeela deepened my understanding of preparation and showed me the importance of stepping up where needed. These experiences have reinforced the importance of reliability and organisation to me. Through my leadership experience as Chief Editor of my school’s medical journal, I have developed the ability to manage responsibilities while maintaining open communication within a team.
I would approach this position as an opportunity to give back to a community that has given me so much. By working diligently behind the scenes, I hope to help the society run smoothly while preserving the warmth that makes it so special. I would prioritise fostering a supportive committee environment so that, together, we can continue nurturing HSoc as a true home away from home for every member.
