Hiking Club: President

Hey! I'm Wren Clarke and I'm running to be your next Hiking Club President!

So, Wren, why are you running? Here are 3 major reasons:

1. All I have felt since joining this club is a warm, welcoming and inclusive sense of community
2. I want to give back to the Committee, Walk Leaders and Members who have done so much for me
3. I am incredibly organised, reliable and ambitious: I want an opportunity to develop these skills further whilst enacting real change

Why vote for me?

• I have always been an extremely active member of the club: I attend all socials a weekly hike so I'm already finding out what you think and want for the club
• I am bursting with fresh ideas for the club's future
• I will strive for support for all Members', Walk Leaders' and Committees' wellbeing
• I will maintain an open dialogue between all members of the club, from fresher to senior committee
• I work closely with many of senior committee already so I understand the intricacies of running the club and our setbacks, ensuring a smooth handover in June

What will I bring to the club if I am elected?

• I promise to continue bringing weekly socials, two weekend hikes, a supportive Walk Leader training scheme and, of course, residentials!!!
• More merchandise: more fleeces, hoodies hats and... water bottles anyone?
• Member picked socials
• Questions for committee drop in sessions
• Relaxed social study evenings
• Inter-Uni collaborations
• Outreach initiatives to youth programmes (e.g. scouts)
