I’m standing for Magazine Editor of the Hiking Club because I believe the club’s magazine can capture and share the unique experiences that make hiking such a rewarding activity. Hiking is not only about reaching summits or completing routes; it is also about the stories, landscapes, and sense of community that develop along the way. A well-run magazine can preserve these moments while inspiring more members to get involved in the club.

As Magazine Editor, I would aim to make the magazine a space where members can reflect on hikes, share photography, offer route highlights, and write about memorable moments from trips. I’d also like to make it accessible for people who may not usually write, encouraging short reflections or photo features. Ultimately, I want the magazine to celebrate the club’s adventures while strengthening its sense of community.

My experience as Editor-in-Chief of my sixth form newspaper, The Kingfisher, has given me strong editorial and organisational skills. I have experience coordinating contributors, editing articles, and ensuring that a publication maintains both quality and consistency. Just as importantly, I have learned how to encourage others to share their perspectives and turn individual experiences into engaging pieces of writing.
